Biography:
Coach Staley enters her second year as The Henderson International School's Women's Head Basketball and Volleyball Coach. She looks forward to developing programs that instill a sense of self esteem and confidence in her young student athlete's lives as well as teaching them to balance academics and athletics.
Coach Staley graduated from Palmdale High School in 1986 with a host of awards: Gatorade National Player of the Year, 1985, All State, California, 1985 & 1986, All American, 1986, Converse All American Top 10, 1986. Upon graduation, Staley accepted an athletic scholarship to play at the collegiate level for the UNLV Lady Rebels. At UNLV, she was part of team that made post season appearances every year, including three to the NCAA tournament. In her senior year at UNLV, the Lady Rebels established a UNLV record for wins, going 28-3 and recording a national ranking of #2, the highest ranking ever for the program. This 1989-90 team was recently acknowledged for their efforts by being inducted to the UNLV Hall of Fame. She played in every game since her freshman year and holds the record for most games played, by either male or female at 129. Not only did she excel in athletics, she was also recognized for her commitment in the classroom by being awarded multiple academics awards.
Upon graduation in 1990, she accepted a position in the UNLV Athletic Development Office where she helped raise funds for all sports teams and organize fun raisers. Coach Staley has been involved with sports, in some facet, all of her life and continues to help develop young athletes in various sports in all levels.
She has strong commitment to personal achievement and excellence and hopes to instill the same philosophies to the young ladies she coaches.
