Luke I. O'Neill, President
Mr. O'Neill most recently served as Chief Executive Officer, Founder, and Board Member for the Shackleton Schools ("Shackleton") in Boston. He founded Shackleton to create a residential high school to inspire young people who were eager to explore their leadership potential through a challenging, expedition-based curriculum. His accomplishments at Shackleton included recruiting a high-profile Board of Directors, raising $16 million in capital and scholarship funds, and constructing an earth-friendly campus on a 70-acre hilltop farm near Boston. Prior to Shackleton, Mr. O'Neill served as the Director of Development at the North Carolina Outward Bound School, and as a corporate attorney. Since 1990 he has instructed wilderness education courses for Outward Bound on the coast of Maine. Mr. O'Neill holds an MBA from the Harvard Business School, a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center, and a B.A. from Georgetown University.
Rod L. Kehl, Head of School
Mr. Kehl has more than 30 years experience in education. Previously, he served as Interim Headmaster at St. Stephen's Episcopal School and Interim Headmaster at Presbyterian School both in Houston, TX. He also served as Headmaster at The Benjamin School ("Benjamin") located in North Palm Beach, FL for 19 years. During his tenure at Benjamin, Mr. Kehl grew enrollment from 240 students to approximately 1,200, managed a $12 million budget, raised donations in excess of $1 million, and managed a staff of over 160. Mr. Kehl holds a Master of Science in Education from the University of Wisconsin and a B.S. from the University of Nebraska.
