Class Trips

At the Henderson International School we believe that every student's education is enhanced through learning that takes place outside the classroom.

Lower School students participate in field trips each trimester to museums, theatrical performances and other local venues such as Hoover Dam, Lake Mead, Springs Preserve and the Dolphin Habitat. All these experiences align to our academic standards and are multi-disciplinary in nature.  Every year, 4th grade students take a day trip to both Carson City to tour the State Supreme Court and Capitol buildings, and Virginia City to experience Nevada history first-hand.

In the fall Middle School students participate in experiential learning and leadership training off-site.  These trips promote peer bonding, self-reliance, and opportunities for students to get to know their teachers away from the classroom.  For some students, this is their first trip away from family. When students return, parents notice an increased level of independence and confidence.  To culminate their study of American History, 8th grade students will travel to Washington DC.

Middle school students also have opportunity to participate in The Games - an annual athletic competition with other nationwide schools which includes sports such as archery, swimming, soccer, volleyball and much, much more!

Our high school students have the opportunity to experience college life. Students visit prestigious colleges to help prepare them for their future and gain an insight to the high expectations that comes with studying at an Ivy League College.
