Arbor Day At HIS!

April 27, 2017

Wednesday was Arbor Day at HIS, and 3rd grader; Angela, wrote about her day:

Arborists from the City of Henderson came to our school to plant a lovely tree. The third and fourth graders went to see the tree get planted out by our carline.

We saw a few people there with a lot of shovels. One man read the proclamation from the

Mayor of Henderson. Then another man told us what arborists do. He said, “Our job is about planting trees.” He also talked about the history of Arbor Day. Then we got to learn about how some trees need to find their balance by using tree stakes.

We saw a plaque from last year that said the fourth graders planted a different tree. Then they said that we could help plant the new tree, so they gave us shovels to put the dirt in. After that we all returned to what we were doing. It was an awesome Arbor Day!
