EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT SUMMIT RIDGE DAY CAMP.

Updated Security at Summit Ridge Day Camp

Camp Families will notice enhanced security on campus.  This is for the safety and security of our campers.  Please read this e-mail in its entirety so you are aware of the campus security policies.

SRDC AM Early Care Families:  7:15 am – 8:45 a.m. Early Care Check in will now take place at the Front Gate.  Once you check in your camper, an SRDC Employee will escort your camper to the gallery for morning care.  If you arrive before 8:40 and your camper is not attending early care, you must wait for the campus gates to open.

Camper Drop Off:  8:40 am – 9:00 a.m.  Please follow the camp drop off procedures.  Camper drop off ends promptly at 9:00 a.m.

Late Camper Arrival:

  • Please make every effort to have your campers arrive by 9:00 a.m.  It is very disruptive to have campers arrive late.
  • It is important for each camper to be part of the daily opening circle with their camp group.
  • If your camper must arrive after that 9:00 a.m., they will need to be escorted into the front office and signed in.  Please do not send your camper in without a parent or guardian.
  • Late campers will not be able to purchase a hot lunch on the days they arrive late.
  • You are not permitted on campus during camp hours. Your child will be escorted to ensure they arrive safely to camp.

Early Camper Pick Up:

  • We strongly discourage early pick up of campers.
  • If you need to pick up a camper early, phone the office ahead of your pick up. If you do not phone ahead, please note it will take time to have your camper at the front office ready to go.
  • We will not release campers between 2:30 and 3:15 pm, there are no exceptions to this rule.  The main office doors will not be opened to visitors during this time. Please phone ahead on 702-818-2149 if there is an emergency, so we can arrange for your child to be taken to reception.
  • We encourage you to book appointments that avoid you picking up during 2:30 – 3:15pm time.
  • If picking up a camper early, that is before 2:30pm, please check in the main school office with a form of photo ID.
  • Photo ID must be presented before the front desk can radio the camp office to arrange your child arriving at the front office.
  • Please be aware that it may take up to 15 minutes for us to get your camper from their activity, get their camp gear and escort them to the front office. Allow plenty of time.
  • Your camper must be signed out before they can leave.
  • We will not dismiss campers early from closing circle.

Afternoon Pick Up:

  • We recommend all families use our Car Line circle for afternoon pick up to ensure the safety of our campers. Be sure to have your car line tags on the passenger side dashboard. Staff members will direct traffic, please follow their directions.
  • We ask that you remain in your vehicles at all times.   Each camper will be escorted to and placed in your vehicle by a camp staff member.
  • PRE SCHOOL CAMPERS WILL HAVE A SIGN OUT STICKER FOR TO BE SIGNED AT PICK UP.  Car Line begins at 3:15 pm and will end at approximately 3:45 pm (or when there are no more cars).
  • If you choose to park and pick up your camper, please proceed to the door at the back of Henderson Hall with your carline tag and hand to the camp staff person at back door.  Campers will be called to meet you once car line begins.  Remember campus gates will not open until 3:15 p.m.

Extended Care:  3:45 pm – 6:00 pm.

  • Campers not picked up by 3:45 pm will be escorted to The Gallery for extended care.  There will be an additional cost for extended care.
  • You must park and walk to the Gallery to pick up your camper from Extended Care.
  • Extended care ends at 6:00 p.m.  Campers will be charged $1 a minute after 6:00 p.m.
  • If you must reach Extended Care, please call 702-624-2656.

Camper and Campus Safety:

  • During drop off and pick up time, the parking lot will be busy. Please drive slowly and watch for children at all times.
  • If you must drop something off for your camper, it will be left on a table in the administrative lobby for camp staff retrieve.  You will not be permitted on campus to deliver.
  • If parking on campus when camp is in session, please use a parking bay and do not park on red lines. Red lines are for emergency use, and obstructions in red line areas may result in a fine.
  • There are dedicated 5 min parking bays located at the front of the parking lot, for quick drop offs.
  • Drivers who pose a threat to safety, drive dangerously or do not follow the parking rules, will not be permitted to enter the parking lot for future pick-ups, drop offs or campus visits.
  • Please be aware that at certain times of the day, vendor deliveries will be made. Again, this is another reason to use the parking bays and not park on the red lines.
  • If a staff member or security guard requests you to move your vehicle, please do so respectfully.
  • For drop off and pick up, staff and cones will be situated to assist you, please follow the directions.
  • When driving on campus, please note that hand held devices are not permitted while driving, for safety of our staff and children.

Please bring a camp bag each day.   Pack your camp bag with a towel, a change of clothing, stick sunscreen, pool shoes and a refillable water bottle.  What to wear?  We recommend that campers come to camp in cool, comfortable clothing each day. If your camper has severe allergies or requires medication during the camp day or to be left on campus, a parent or guardian must complete the Medication Authorization Form and/or an Allergy Action Plan Form available for download on our website.  These forms, along with the medication, should be brought in on the camper’s first day of camp.  You are responsible for picking up the medication on the last day of camp or we will dispose of it.

Money for lunch needs to be in a labeled envelope.
