A new CIT must be entering 8th, 9th or 10th grade and never participated in our C.I.T. program previously.  If you have been an SRDC camper, please make sure you indicate that.

Once received, you will get an e-mail with details on a required Parent Informational Meeting (date TBD) that must be attended before being accepted into the program.

The cost for the 2020 CIT Program is $75 for a 5 day week.  

Congratulations!  Your 7th grader Early Teen Camper is now eligible to be part of our A-MA-ZING C.I.T. Program.  Our C.I.T. program provides a wonderful opportunity for young adults to further develop their leadership and communication skills, as well as gain experience in supervising, planning, and instructing activities for young children.

Counselors- In-Training are an important part of our camp staff.   Our first year C.I.T. are referred to as JCITS (Jr. CITS) Each JCIT will be assigned to a group for a minimum of 2 consecutive weeks and become an integral part of our camp community and a leader in his/her group.   The program is a combination of training, apprenticeship, and teen socialization that includes working with other C.I.T.s and experienced counselors while being mentored by Lauren Vogel Freedman, M.Ed our Behavioral Specialist and C.I.T Director. 

This summer JC.I.T.s will:

  • Gain valuable experience interacting with school-age children
  • Participate in weekly group meetings with C.I.T. Director to discuss topics like leadership & responsibility
  • Take fun Day Trips to socialize with other C.I.Ts off campus
  • Develop new skills such as: creative thinking, effective communication, and conflict resolution
  • Gain teamwork experience
  • Receive  C.I.T. camp T-shirts
  • Make new friends and life long memories
  • Receive community service hours for school
  • Be mentored by Lauren Vogel Freedman, M. Ed Behavior Specialist and Certified Life Coach.
  • Free pizza lunch every Friday!

 New applicants must complete an interest form (attached) and participate in a group interview (Date TBD). We are requiring a minimum commitment of 2 consecutive weeks and our training in-service.

We look forward to receiving your completed interest form (attached), as there are a limited number of participants selected into the program.  Please scan in and e-mail the completed C.I.T Interest Form to  by Friday, Feb 21, 2020.   The C.I.T. Director will contact you via e-mail to confirm the interview/ parent meeting date.   After the interview/parent meeting and your application is accepted, you will be given directions on how to register online and make your payment.   You do not officially register until after the interview/meeting.
