LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — A private school in Henderson is celebrating its 100th day with what looks like a bunch of 100-year-olds! Henderson International School students marked the milestone dressed in their best elderly attire, complete with suspenders, gray hairs, and canes in tow. Those at the school say the 100th day is a great time to look back at the school year and see what the students have learned. Teachers also use the number 100 to help some of their younger students learn how to count.

Students held a traditional parade to celebrate the arrival of Chinese New Year. Some of the youngest students at the private school wore red shirts and carried brightly-colored lantern art pieces. They also got to operate Nian the dragon as they paraded around the school. "We like to kick off the new year with a festive cultural celebration," Lizette Augustine, early childhood director at Henderson International School, said in a news release. "The younger students enjoy showing off artwork created by their own Visual Arts team and being 'chased' by the dragon monster." This Lunar New Year marks the Year of the Rabbit, which is a symbol of prosperity in Chinese culture.

Las Vegas (KSNV) — Some long-term teachers at one Henderson private school are being recognized for their decade's worth of work during a recent celebration.

The three principals at Henderson Internation School put together an after-school celebration for the teachers on Wednesday, November 16. The event recognized the long-term employees who have been with the school for over ten years.

The performer held a magic show at Henderson International School on Tuesday. Pre-school students through 2nd graders were treated to kid-friendly illusions and tricks.
