Congratulations to our students who received awards from the Center for Bright Kids Western Academic Talent Search. Eight students scored in the top 25 percent of the seven state region, and three scored in the top ten percent.

HIS qualified to become a site for college-level testing based on our students high scores on our annual standardized testing. This allows our students to take college-entrance exams (SAT, PSAT and ACT) to gain early exposure to this type of testing.

According to the Center for Bright Kids website, "The SAT, ACT, and PSAT tests provide a higher ceiling and valuable assessment information for young academically talented students. Taking these tests also provides students with early experience in taking college entrance-type tests. Students who have participated over the years report increased comfort with standardized testing and significant score gains based upon Talent Search experiences."

Two of our students are not pictured in the photo, Lynus and his brother Max, because they were traveling to Duke University in North Carolina to receive Lynus' Grand Recognition for his exceptionally high score on the ACT. Lynus scored in the top five percent in the nation for seventh graders. Both Lynus and Max scored in the top ten percent in our seven state region.

Great job by all of our academically-advanced students! Keep up the hard work.
