Snow in August? Surely not!

August 31, 2017

Students in second grade made snow this week in science class.  Students examined snow powder under a hand lens and made predictions about how much water is needed and how much snow could be produced.  The young scientists measured water with graduated cylinders and mixed the solution until cold snow was the result!

This fun experiment aligns with NGSS (Next Generation Science Standards):

Students can analyze data obtained from testing different materials to determine which materials have the properties that are best suited for an intended purpose

I am excited for many more experiments coming soon!

If you want to find out more about what is happening in science, please regularly check the science co-curricular page.
